      JoshHandelman The regulations around the law interpret “reasonable” as 100 miles, and “external boundary” to include airports. The requirements for a search are much lower, only ‘reasonable suspicion’ — and that’s a low bar for searching a train/bus.

    JoshHandelman Plus because there’s minimal judicial review of CBP action, there’s essentially no recourse. And CBP/DHS hasn’t punished anyone for violating the 4th amendment. So they don’t actually *have* to follow the constitution.
