AirBnb host reaches out saying “I have to cancel” with less than 48 hrs notice. Doesn’t actually cancel. ARGH

For the record: AirBnb *will* cover the difference in cost of rebooking, but only if the host cancels, not if you cancel.

And of course, hosts don’t want to cancel because it dings their rating. So now I’m stuck, both out the cost and unable to rebook.

And, of course, AirbnbHelp only has an automated system that won’t failover to a human if the issue isn’t covered by their automated system
