Looks like we’re comparing housing units built in the city proper to prices in the metro area. And you’ll notice that the prices in the city proper matched inflation nearly perfectly.

    alon_levy PippengerHarlo cafedujord For an accurate comparison we’d need to look at housing built per capita across the entire metro area and then compare that to rent change as a multiple of inflation.
