      nbashaw Yeah, the ‘bunching’ effect of the safety car means the marshals have a longer amount of time to work on-track with the race cars not driving past them (still at like 80-100mph, sometimes!)

    nbashaw The VSC is used when there’s a safety issue not literally on the racetrack, it reduces the likelihood of another accident happening in the same place (and therefore injuring marshals or a car hitting recovery equipment). But to clean debris off the racing line, you need a full SC
