NuritBaytch alon_levy Ok, I see what’s happening! All people admitted *for* COVID are positive prior to admission. But not all people positive prior to admission are being admitted *for* COVID. The data hospitals send to NYS for this report doesn’t include the reason the patient was admitted!

NuritBaytch alon_levy It’s not that I’m disputing the numbers in the chart, they just don’t tell you *why* someone was admitted, only *when* they tested positive. A person who gets hit by a car and tests positive when they’re admitted is “covid positive prior to admission”

NuritBaytch alon_levy That being said, there’s a question I’m not sure of — if someone shows up to an ER and tests positive, will the hospital admit them even if their symptoms aren’t severe?
