Hey NYC, because of cloud cover the news choppers aren’t flying. This means: 1. If you hear a helicopter, it’s the cops 2. You don’t have top cover. If the cops want to fuck with you, there’s not gonna be overhead footage.
-
The helicopters are always overhead when they kettle folks. Follow N919PD and N918PD on FlightRadar24. N920PD might fly later tonight (though it’s been flying a lot over the past week and might need maintenance).
-
N414PD was used last week but it’s a rescue helicopter and is less likely to make an appearance. N917PD hasn’t flown since mid-March, probably indicating it’s out of service for the time being.
-
Track these on FlightRadar24 and you can see what the cops really care about.
-
Looks like darkness and weather might have grounded the NYPD as well. Silver linings. Stay safe and dry out there, folks.
-
The cops are back in the air — but so are the news choppers. And the news is getting here first.
