So, uh, fun story about someone saying the VOA is full of communists. In 1953 the US Information Service was created in DC, and the VOA moved into its offices shortly thereafter. One of the VOA employees at the time was my grandfather — a third of his way through a career in public service — and his young children (dad and my aunt).Permalink On twitter.com
