  1. Had a very interesting conversation where I pointed out that certain family friends were racist. My parents decided that it was too awkward a conversation and wanted it shut down.

      Instead, I emailed them quotes from ‘letter from a Birmingham jail” We should call out racism wherever we see it. Even when it feels uncomfortable. Rip out the problem from the roots.

        If ‘light racism’ is acceptable in polite society, it opens the window for violent white supremacy to enter the conversation.
